Finished Objects

Okay, so it has been forever since I have posted. Now for the excuse, my camera dock has been in a funk and I was unable to upload pictures to my computer!! I finally finished and sent to my new nephew this prairie blanket by Oat Couture. I used about 6 skeins of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece. It seemed to take forever to finish, but it is done! Now, if I can figure out how to move these pictures around! This hat is the SnB Basic Cable. I just love this pattern! I used Paton's classic merino wool.

umbilical cord/washcloths

Well, here is a picture of a set of items for a woman at work who is having a baby any day now!! This is the umbilical cord hat from Stitch n Bitch. Very easy to do. Of course, this is really my second set! Darling daughter, last of my four children decided to put a little decoration on the first one! Needless to say, I could not pass that one on!
I was trying Bernat cotton tots out. I liked it, but it does pill a little upon washing. I want to make a this hat out of a wool to see the difference. But I couldn't see the newborn in August wearing it! Especially with this hot summer we are having in the northeast!

boob tube

Well, It has been a while since I posted, but I have been having such a hard time uploading pictures. They disappear and take forever to upload.
I made the Boob tube SnB Nation. I think I knit tightly and was thinking if it turned out small it would be for my daughter. Indeed, it did! It turned out Okay, but I do not love it! I made it out of Berroco twist sea anenome.

First sewn Tahki tank

Well I'm proud I finally made an object I had to sew! I cannot sew and am not crafty. I have been procrastinating the sweater thing. My daughter even proclaimed I had a poncho, capelet fettish! So, I cheated a little and made a tank, a few seams less than a sweater.
The seams certainly aren't perfect. The second side is better than the first. I also have to have a book for everything I do, so I did use the Knitter's book of Finishing Techniques by Nancie Wiseman. The pattern I got off of which was the Tahki-Stacy Charles textured sleeveless top featured in the Spring Collection 2002. I modified it a wee bit by shortening the armhole length and lengthening the straps. The edges aren't so neat so I guess it looks handmade! I plan to wear it for a cookout at my mother's on the 4th!

New blog

I am trying to create a blog so here it goes! I started knitting last summer and have managed to finish a few things. Mind you, I am not crafty or artistic in any way!! I did finish a few of the cable hats from SNB Nation, an alien scarf, a couple of the paris loop ponchos, the spiderweb capelet and boob tube from SNB Nation, and finally my first thing I had to sew, the simple tank from tahki on
